The Awakener - Bringing light back into the world

JFK said...

The last post I made just reminded me of a quote I learned from JFK from the 1970s.

It was something like,

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your county".

Now this is quite similar to what the previous post talked about. However we can modify it for our purposes,

"Think not what your company/business/colleagues/family etc can do for you, but ask what you can to for them".

The Bible and virtually all the holy scriptures share this similar proverb, "give and you shall receive", unfortunately in today's world too many people are taking and not giving. However this makes it easier for you to stand out above the crowd.

Karma - Give first then you'll receive all you want...

A true short story...

A young man was offered a chance to volunteer to help raise money for charity by selling programmes and tickets for a boating regatta. He was keen to help and offered a 'free' lunch and a sponsors t-shirt - he jumped at the opportunity. He arrived at the event and was issued his equipment and given a full briefing for the days precedings. After 8 hrs of hard graft the day was at a close...he returned to his supervisors and asked one question:

"Is there anything else I can do today to help?"

To which the answer was, "yes, to collect trash and rubbish from the other side of the quays". Without hesitation he set off for 10 minute walk to start his final task. Once there he realised there was far too much to be carried all the way back, so he picked up what he could and stummbled back, arms aching and straining under the weight of the bags of rubbish. Upon returning the supervisors were astonished by the effort as they didn't expect him to bring so many bags back over such a distance...he was then told that he could finish for the day, but before he left he was called over by one of the senior supervisors. " Come here quickly" she said, "I've got something for you"...he was then given a brand-new, unopened sports jacket - which had been paid for by the sponsors and reserved only for senior coordinators and supervisors - worth over $80; a totally unexpected bonus!

This is a true story, now why did this happen?

Simple, he put in an extra 1% and asked 'what else he could do to help', while the other volunteers disappeared at 5pm an hour earlier than they should have.

So how does this simple story apply to you?

Easy, stop thinking about yourself all the time and focus on what you can do to benefit other people without expecting compensation. For example at work, ask what else you can do to help and help others without expecting something in return; the return of karma will come faster than you think!...As in this case, almost immediately.

Give first and don't expect anything in return, go the extra mile...not only will you feel a better person - you'll feel an inner sense of fullfilment. By giving back to the world you'll be rewarded in ways you'd never expect.

Questioning your perception of reality...

It is an undeniable truth that how you view and interact with reality has a direct influence and thus impact on the actual reailty you live and experience...

If you live your life to exist from day to day, from one pay check to the next, then this will be the life you undoubtably will lead - your reality. To break free from the shackles you need to live your life looking for opportunities and developing a success and action orientated mindset. It is no conincidence that the rich, famous and spitirtual leaders of the world go the extra mile in everything they do. They live the truth that anything is possible in our world which is full of opportunities, they 'live' each day- they don't just exist, every challenge is a new opportunity and every failure presents a new scenario to learn and grow from. It is this perception of reailty aand mindset that sets them apart from the 'herd'...if all the world's money was evenly distributed between everyone in the world, you would be suprised to learn that within only a few years the rich would once again be rich and the poor would be sadly once again poor...

Change your view point, challenge your beliefs and values, face your fears and know that nothing is impossible! You can achieve anything you want in life...choose your goal - focus intensely and passionately on it - and never stop until you hit that goal.

NEVER GIVE UP!

Remember you only have to work 1% harder than those around you to get 20% more results, can you give that 1% extra to live your dreams?
